People often ask me how I save so much of our income, and I don’t really know how to answer without going into an hour long speech about all the little things I do. So I wanted to put it all here, in one place, to share with the world.
I realize that everything I do will not work for everyone’s lifestyles. For example, I would love to be one of those families that bikes everywhere or just has one vehicle. But it wouldn’t work for us, since we are miles away from the nearest store, restaurant, library, etc. But every little bit counts, and everything you can do to cut your expenses can add up in a big way.
My biggest and most important tip is to BE ORGANIZED. If you are organized, then you will not buy things you don’t need or waste gas money on extra trips. You will find that your whole life is a little more streamlined and easier to deal with. Being organized and having systems in place can be the biggest money-saver you do for your family.
